Corporate Intelligence Awareness

Rodger’s book Corporate Intelligence Awareness: Securing the Competitive Edge was successfully published on 01 November 2006. The material evolved over a period of 4 years in response to Corporate Intelligence Seminar/Workshop client requirements in the IT, Industrial, Financial, Broadcast/Media & Government arenas. Motivation to write the book stemmed from Rodger’s seeing the direct relevance of his intelligence gathering/safeguarding expertise in the operational area.

"In this compelling new book by a former diplomat, you will learn the secrets (step by step) to developing an intelligence strategy by effective information gathering and analyzing, and then to delivering credible intelligence to senior management."

Predict Future Outcomes - Secure the Competitive Edge!
Inspired by significant diplomatic experience that called for the ability to predict of what might happen in the future in bi-lateral and regional trade affairs, Rodger Harding, decided to make his practical knowledge available to clients in the business world.

Rodger's determination was fuelled by a business world beset by the rise in corporate espionage and a growing confusion as what constitutes legal/ethical information gathering. Further motivation was his perception that the increasingly popular terms Business Intelligence and Competitive Intelligence refer largely to the technology that manages information and data and, more often than not, ignores people awareness so vital to the procurement of relevant intelligence that provides the true competitive edge.

Corporate Intelligence Awareness, in people terms, refers to innate human capacity to think creatively when faced with the unknown or unproven. The greater the capacity of an organization and its people to work with confidence in the dimension of potentials, possibilities and maybes, the greater the ability to predict accurate future business outcomes.

The Harding Intelligence Program has become an increasingly important function of our consulting and training activity. Participating organizations are cost effectively empowered to:
  •  Maximise Information/Knowledge Awareness – Efficiently Gather, Analyze and Process Information
  • Protect Assets, valuable information, process and operational detai.
  • Sell information/intelligence upward through effective report writing, and strategic relationship building.
  • Use available people expertise to find out what others don’t know…and act on it before they do!
  • Strengthen planning and strategy initiatives.

Corporate Intelligence Awareness is both alluring and provocative. It will make executives painfully aware of the inadequacies of their organization's current approach to information gathering/knowledge management and will convince them to make critical changes to the way disparate information is collected and synthesized into meaningful and actionable intelligence. It's a 'must read' for executives and those involved in strategy development. Kevin Doyle Director, Corporate Strategy & Research Toronto Stock Exchange (TSX Group)
